Office Nurse - Monticello
Overview
Catskill Regional Medical Group held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new Monticello office on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. The event commemorated the start of construction on the project that, once complete, will house new Urgent Care and Primary Care services for Catskill Regional Medical Group. The new Monticello location is the fourth for Catskill Regional Medical Group with existing offices in Harris, Livingston Manor and Callicoon. The 11,000-square-foot building will also feature x-ray, ultrasound and CT scan technology as well as 12 exam / procedure rooms and laboratory services. Situated on the corner of Route 42 and Concord Road in the Town of Thompson, the location will allow easy access to patients traveling in either direction on State Route 17. Completion of the building is expected in 2017.
Responsibilities
Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness. They are advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities. When providing direct patient care, they record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.
Quality, age specific and culturally sensitive care is provided by the nurse who implements interventions to ensure that patient/family needs are addressed including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Educational Program
Minimum
Experience:
1 year physician office experience preferred.
Required Certification/Registration:
Completion of accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
Required Courses/Training:
Current LPN license, ongoing and current BLS.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Assists with moving patients. Lifts supplies/equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
Working Conditions:
Contacts with patients under wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed to unpleasant patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
